Transparency: ETFs are considered transparent because their portfolio holdings are disclosed daily. Liquidity: ETFs are considered to have continuous liquidity because they allow for an individual to trade throughout the day. Low fees: Ordinary brokerage fees apply. Alpha: a coefficient measuring the portion of an investment's return arising from specific (non-market) risk. Short Selling: ETFs are subject to risk similar to those of stocks including those regarding short-selling and margin account maintenance. Unlike mutual funds, investors are subject to commission charges for each buy and sell trade executed for an ETF.
